  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • i am an early years apprentice, i work with children ages 3-4 years, i have 8 key children and i am responsible for their educational, emotional and physical development, i write multiple observations on them daily to document their progress, i complete apprenticeship trainings and webinars and monthly online courses

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i have gained more communication Skills, understood the best way to problem-solve. i have gained skills in team working. i have gained experience of the working world, and researched laws and regulations. i have also gained experience in childcare, maintaining and organising a clean, tidy, child-friendly environment, a sense of fun, energy, imagination, empathy and patience

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i really enjoy this level 3 childcare apprenticeship programme, i feel like iv gained a lot from this apprenticeship and i can speak freely with my assessor and can ask for help and support when needed, im happy with the work load i have an i feel that it is easily manageable

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My level 3 childcare apprenticeship programme is very well structured, im happy with the work load i have and i feel that it is easily manageable, i am given a good timescale and i am given reminders to any training i should attend, and i would definelty recommend my programme

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • i receive a good amount of support from my employer and i have a good relationship with them i can speak freely with my employer and can ask for help and support when i need it , i know that they will always help and cater to my needs and requirments

  • i receive a good amount of support from my assessor and i have a good relationship with her i can speak freely with my assessor and can ask for help and support when i need it , i know that she will always help and cater to my needs and requirments

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i believe it has helped me through my job and has helped me gain confident in my job, and has made me understand rules and regulations greatly, i have also gained experience in the world of work, which i wouldnt have been able to do this well without this apprenticeship

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • we have social gatherings, for example a work meal or christmas meal, birthday meal, leaving meal e.t.c however due to covid we have had it all at work so i have not been able to have an out of setting social activity. i plan to have some professional networking events in the future

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • i believe apprenticeships are definatly the way to go, im happy with the work load i have and i feel that it is easily manageable, i am always given a good timescale and i am given reminders to any training i should attend, and i would definelty recommend my programme


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Realise?
  • i would tell people to go for it, its the best decision iv made, and it has helped me develop and progress in many ways not just in the world of work but also as a person, it has made me more responsible and conscious of my actions and has given me the experience needed to progress further in life, and i feel if i didnt take the apprenticeship route i wouldnt be where i am today
