My role and what this involves is highway maintenance making sure that the signs are straight and visible for people to see on the road, fixing potholes, fixing paths, fitting curbs and drains.
How to use certain machinery to a good standard, how to use the wacker, breaker, saw, level our tarmac, how to mix cement, place drains and fix them.
I enjoy this programme because I am learning new skills every day and the skills that I already know I am further improving on them all the time.
The programme is very well organised
I receive a lot of support from my employer and they are always helping me out.
My training provider is always supporting my work towards the qualifications and they want us to get the best possible grades.
When I leave the sessions I always feel afterwards that the stuff I have learnt on the day I can then go and use that on the job that I will be doing the next day.
There was but because of COVID there has been a stop to them for the time being but they will start to happen again in the future.
Yes
Well organised programme and they will learn a lot from the weekly sessions.
Listen to what they have to say, always ask questions if you don’t understand anything.
