Involves producing capital allowances claims for clients. I have learnt to how to work as a team as in the CA team we have a very small team so it is essential to work as a team which increases efficiency. My confidence has also increased as I have engaged with a lot of different people including contacting clients through email, phone and face to face
The programme is very good as you get to work and study at the same time without having the university debt as well. Also it allows you to rotate in different departments before choosing where to specialise which is a unique thing about the programme. Salary is quite competitive but it could be better
In the first few years it wasn’t very well structured and it was all over the place as it was the first time the programme became in place and over the years it has improved a lot once you start aca it’s a lot better structured as you Join the graduates
Employer supports you as much as you need depending on how much you ask for help. They will always listen to your concerns whether they take it on board or not. They are generally very positive and support you in whatever you may want to do and assist you with any issues you may have and try think of a way to work around it
Receive a lot of support when studying level 3 and 4 but less support is given when studying level 7 but this is normal. We are given enough support as we have live online classes and face to face classes along with study leave days and steps that we have to complete which is marked and feedback is given
The qualification assists me in my job role as I am studying ACA, majority of it is in regards to accounting, audit and tax which is useful as I work in a accounting firm and it allows me to have previous knowledge when carrying out tasks and I am able to use knowledge from exams and implement it in my day to day work
Yes there are a lot of extra curricular activists as there are a lot of communities with in the firm to join. Also the firm always try’s to have several socials throughout the year and have atleast one even where all the staff members are gathered for a day where an event would take place
Yes
It’s a unique programme as you get to rotate throughout the different sectors before choosing to specialise. Also you get to study and gain work experience and skills at the same time without having a uni debt. Furthermore the employee satisfaction with in KPMG is high and they are very supportive of the beliefs you have
Tips or advise would be to be yourself and try not too hard. Main thing is to show you are very enthusiastic rather than trying to show you know everything as the whole point of the programme is to learn starting from the bottom. Also do some research on KPMG and know your own strengths and how it relates to the job role
