I work as a part of an team to audit the financial statements of several companies, we do this by requesting and processing financial information. We spend a lot of time communicating with the client and vouching supporting documentation to samples of balances selected.
I have developed my problem solving, excel and technical accounting knowledge throughout my time at BDO. I have also improved my communication and project management skills and how to manage a team to meet deadlines.
I enjoy the learning that it provides me and the path of progression this job gives.
It follows a timetable and is structured with both exams and training.
There is a lot of support given through all the programme, whether this is Exams or mental wellbeing.
We are given a lot of support when completing exams, this can be from study leave and good college support to flexibility to move exams if personal matters arise.
My role is directly linked to my qualification and therefore when i pass more exams this helps me to understand more within my role and take on new challenges.
There is a good social aspect within the job, this includes away days and residential training with the team where there are socials in the evening to bond with team members.
