  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves a wide variety of task such as data analysis of teh jobs that are created, adapting workplace processes to maximize efficiency, working with various contractors in order to ensure they are able to complete work to a very high standard, ensuring that regulation and legislations are adhered to so that the site is as safe as possible and many more tasks that invole problem solving and smart working

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i have learned a vast number of skills such as website development, coding using html and JavaScript, contract management for onsite service providers, professional Microsoft applications skills and many more. I am working toward my HNC in advanced manufacturing engineering which I am thoroughly enjoying. I have also completed my PFCO drone flying qualification which allows me to survey Areas on site that may me dangerous to access in person.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • So far I am really enjoying this program as t have given me so many opportunities to develop new skills and see area of the business that really interest me. My colleagues attitudes and their work ethic throughout the Coronavirus pandemic was very professional and as a result my enjoyment of the program was maintained despite the online challenges

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the program is well structured and there is plenty of opportunity to improve in all areas. for example there is an option to do a higher qualification to increase your academic achievements as well as structure to allow you to move to different placements and expand your network to a number of different departments

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a very high level of support from my employer through various mean such as training , placement opportunities, development plans and effective communication. One example of this would be myself identifying a lack of presentation skills and so it was arranged for me to present a 10 minute presentation to senior management to increase my confidence and receive helpful feedback from them.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • the training provider gives myself and the others a huge deal of support with individuals going out of their way to help us in any way they can. This can be talking to them during breaks, online calls throughout the week and communications via email or messages on Microsoft teams.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • the qualification that i am doing does not have a direct impact on the role that i will be stepping into however it is very useful in order to have background knowledge of how areas work on site and the theory behind some of the larger senior decisions. using this information can help determine the causes of problems, solutions of those problems and how to prevent the problem happening in the future.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Currently there are no extracurricular activities for me to get involved in due to the coronavirus pandemic however there are usually a wide number of events and challenges that are available to join either as a team or individually. Once the rules become more relaxed there are plans to have team building activities and socials in order to reinforce the teams relationships

  • This company will support you through a wide variety of pathways whether it is for specialized skills or general progression routes towards promotions. you will receive a very high level of support from my employer through various mean such as training , placement opportunities and development plans. Your colleagues attitudes and their work ethic throughout the Coronavirus pandemic was very professional and this is maintained throughout difficulties and support is provided when necessary


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • Your attitude will be a key factor and if you are motivated, keen to learn and work well as part of a team you will fit in extremely well. if you can get work experience in the business or a similar industry it will help as well as attending the open evenings so that you can get an idea of where you will be working. Questions will also help you stand out at these events
