  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

    • I’m an aircraft maintenance engineer; I’m learning how to maintain a range of aircraft within British Airway’s fleet. Maintenance includes; inspections, servicing and defect rectification. I get exposure to a range of different Airbus and Boeing aircraft when rotating around the business.

    • I have learnt many new skills and also developed my existing skills. Not only have I developed my technical skills but also my communication skills as well as my confidence.

    • I thoroughly enjoy my programme and I love coming into work.

    • My programme has been structured very well although COVID has had an impact on this.

    • We receive all the support we need from our managers/employer.

    • Our training providers schedule reviews with us to check on our progress and well-being as well as providing any support we need.

    • I feel that my qualification will help massively when applying my knowledge to the workplace.

    • We have been restricted with social activities and team building exercises due to COVID.

    • I would recommend this role as I love going to work; we our provided with a massive amount of support and given a vast amount of opportunities.
