As a mortgage adviser i help customers apply for mortgages/home loans. I also help them with their protection needs. I give an advised service and make recommendations based on their preferences and needs. I take them through the journey from starting the application to drawdown. I enjoy my job.
When i completed my apprenticeship back in august 2019, i had spent the last 2 years learning new skills and developing my current skills around customer experience. During the time of my apprenticeship i managed to earned a promotions and have since gone on to have another promotion after completion.
I enjoy learning so it didn't matter to me what provider was used. I joined because i wanted to take my Cert RBCB and the apprenticeship qualification was an added bonus. The running of the program wasn't amazing and a lot of self work was needed to complete.
My talent coach changed and there was very little communication when this happened. It meant i was delayed on completing my apprenticeship and final assessment. If i was not independent and pushed for the results myself then i think i would have struggled based on the guidance of the programme.
not as much as i should have been. There was an agreement in place to have a set amount of time aside each week however this did not happen and it was a fight due to staff shortages etc to get this. I used a lot of my own time.
My first talent coach was a great help and always took time to explain everything and go through it in detail. He tested me regularly and we was ahead of schedule due to this. Near the end of my programme my coach changed and they were not as helpful overall.
I believe it was something i was already using in my role and the qualification just gave me a confidence boost as well as showing to colleagues/customers that i was qualified. I use the skills i learnt from this daily and it is part of the reason i excel.
There isn't any regular activities that are set up or that can be signed up for, however the company does run regular volunteer days as well as ownership of community tasks. Due to covid this has reduced for safety and legal reasons but is is still something that occurs.
Yes
The work load and benefit packages are very good. Whilst the pay is not as high as some other providers within the industry the incentives and benefits increase this. The team and well being side of things is run smoothly and they regularly ask for feedback and ways to improve.
Ensure you complete your research on the company as well as the surrounding areas/economic situation. Depending what role you are applying for make sure you have all required qualifications as well as any optional ones or ones that are required once you receive the job. Helps you stand out.
