  • Day to day work consists of working with the team in order to complete various stages of an audit with audit clients in different industries

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I feel I have had to learn how to manage work and social life. Especially as a school leaver finding the balance between work, exams and socialising is a challenge that you learn to perfect.

  • I feel the programme is well structured in order to allow trainees to develop both on the job knowledge as well as exam qualifications.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the programme allows you to become qualified in a suitable time frame although there is no flexibility on when exams can be taken

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is frequent support from BDO in the form of a counselling manager and buddy who frequently check in on you. Additionally, other team members are a great resource for help

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There is time set aside to study for exams and attend college and revision sessions in relation to these. BPP have ample resources and tutors are always happy to answer additional questions

  • I feel the additional steps required to qualify through the training provider allow you to reflect on your progress and focus on important aspects of the job

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Given current circumstances all socials have been virtual however there are plenty of opportunities to bond with your team on non-work related matters

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • BDO is a very friendly environment where mistakes are not punished but are seen as an opportunity to learn. It can be tough at times to manage workloads but the people help you through it


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BDO?
  • Make sure BDO is the right fit for you as a person and your values align with the firms values. Also, do not underestimate the work required once you start, you do not gain the job and that is the hard part done with
