Complete academic work and practical skills. Thats gives me a solid grounding of what il be doing in my career, complete assignment work and practical work within time frames set by Airbus.
I have learnt further skills with regards to engineering practices, I have also developed previous knowledge and skills. The academic knowledge has been brilliant in giving me a solid bases on how Aircraft operate and the properties that has an effect on them during flight.
I thoroughly enjoy the programme, there is a good balance of theory and academic. The quality of the course is fantastic in regards to literature that is given and knowledge from tutors. Due to covid-19 this has interrupted and made the past year hard in regards to communication with Airbus .
The programme is well structured in general. The google suite is used which is simple but effective, however communication with Airbus can be vague and can lead to slight confusion within apprentices. However it is uncertain times at present (covid -19) and thus could be the reason.
I receive a solid support network in regards to college work and completing tasks, any issues regarding PPE or the sorting personal issues such as holidays is done so quickly and professionally.
The college has been brilliant in providing support with assignement work and especially during Covid-19 with remote learning. They have done above and beyond from the start.
I feel that the qualification being done at Deeside college is fantastic and the tutors have previous industry experience which is something that cant be bought! This helps understanding some of the more technical theory and practical work.
Yes there are Airbus have a Gen A which is specifically for apprentices and they have social events on. I am yet to join these but previously haven't found time with being new to the area.
Yes
It is one of the biggest employers in north wales. The opportunity to work on high standard engineering work. The pay as an apprentice and after qualifying is by far the best compared to other trades. Their morales of wanting apprentices to progress through the company.
To work hard on assignments and to achieve the highest grade possible as some believe the minimum grade is sufficient. However to progress further in the company the qualifications gained during apprenticeship are looked at. Also take every opportunity offered with courses and social events
