  • My role generally involves helping during BA events as well as recruiting new work experience students for BA, either by visiting local schools delivering presentations or conducting interviews with potential work experience students.

  • Being a student ambassador has developed and created a range of new skills, improving my communication as well as listening skills. I'm also more confident and have a better understanding of how to conduct myself in the work place.

  • Being a student ambassador has created so many opportunities professionally but also helping create friendships/increasing my network.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Booking to attend events is a simple process, as well as explaining what they want for the event/situation. Help is available if needed, and the team are easy to contact.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • All members of the team can be easily contacted via WhatsApp or email. Support is available when needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • During my work experience placement we were offered support on CV writing and what employers expect when recruiting.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I haven't got qualifications from this role however it's helped increase my experience in the work place as well as develop a range of skills and increase my network.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • They're have been some events, sometimes I haven't been able to attend, however we were invited to a Champagne event in the BA arrivals lounge as well as a picnic at Waterside, which again shows the social side to working rather purely the work/professionalism side of employment, which many companies offering work experience fail to do so.

  • 9a. Would you recommend British Airways to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They are an interesting company which a long history. While many people think they'd need to have a keen interest in aircraft, there are so many roles available that you can come from any background and still find a place to fit in. Whether it's from a business perspective, customers service, engineering BA has a lot to offer. Any skills developed as an ambassador will be used in almost any company and having BA on your CV will help you stand out.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
  • To be your self, BA has created a diverse accepting community, acting your 100% true self will help you fit in and make the most of your journey with BA. Also not to worry about being the most confident, the purpose of work experience is to develop yourself and they will show interest in the quieter applicants, as I said, they have a community with all types of people.
