To work along side the dentist and provide support through dental treatments. To make brief notes on patient records. To ensure decontamination area is up to a high standard and to support reception at times
My confidence and speaking skills have definitely developed working through the practice. Speaking to patients and undergoing hard extractions and seeing how to do implants and ortho have helped me to control my fears and work under pressure
It’s such an amazing job opportunity which has allowed to me to see different aspects of dentistry. Aspiration training do not only give you coursework to do but play roles, question and answers, exams and so on to complete your portfolio
It is very well structured, my assessor has a monthly session with me in which she tells me the plan for next couple of months and also shows me when I plan to finish the programme. Even if I finish the work set there is always more to do
Our practice manager and the dentists have been proven very useful. Due to covid I couldn’t sit my exams at the centre and did them at the practice with my manager receiving the correct training. Any help I needed they,d help and have an open door policy
Aspiration training are helped me so much especially my assessor has got me through this course faster than expected. Any messages or emails are answered within seconds even sometimes on the weekends. She’s always happy to give extra support or extra sessions with exam help
Allowing me to complete my assignments and different activities to help through my course pushed me out of my comfort zone to go and explore more of the role of a dental nurse which I then was introduced to ortho and implants which was an amazing experience
We usually have a Christmas gathering, at the end of our working year we get together and go through our achievements which are really nice. The dental nurses usually meet up outside and often bond very well together too
Yes
They have an amazing and professional attitude and are willing to strive to allow you to finish the course quickly. They always welcome to any questions and are fast at replying in you need any help
Stay on top of your work as any assignments missed can cause delays in the course. Ensure that you have an assessor who knows and gives you a time frame and log of what to expect throughout the year
