Assisting with daily personal care. Assisting with food and drink and and needs. Helping new starters to learn their role and helping to assist the residents in their overall needs. Helping to write care plans and also helping in adapting the plan if need be with new information or simply updating information to help provide the best care.
I have learned more about the role of a lead care nursing assistant. About other services that are available to myself to utilise and learn more about a particular service where I can use this information and implement it into my job role. I have learnt more about my own skills and how to further them more.
I enjoyed learning about the different aspects of working in the health and social care sector. I enjoyed the person to person learning and how it was deployed and learned across the year. I also enjoyed the feedback of the units and how each section was split and delivered to learn more on certain areas.
It was well organised with the person to person meetings, zoom calls, phone calls and general feedback of completed work and also how the next sector of work was structured and delivered to myself. I found the smart assessor programme good for submitting work but could have been improved to overall have a better experience with the software.
I had support from my employer throughout the programmes duration. They would ask how the programme was going what is upcoming and also if I needed any further information regarding certain topics or upcoming pieces of work. I also was supported in being shown what was next to learn and given information that could help me complete the work.
I was given documents and links not help complete the certain topics of work that I would be given that would give me a better insight into it or to learn that key information needed to complete it. I was given one to one catch up meetings to see if any questions would have been answered or outstanding regarding work
I feel as if I perform better in my job role due to the information that I have been able to learn throughout the qualification. I feel it has allowed me to see things in a different aspect and therefore perform my role to a higher standard than previously due to this learned information.
Their are yearly staff parties generally around holiday times to celebrate the year in question and also look forward to what would be coming up in the year ahead. Also staff meetings at work to keep up to date with information and to also voice any concerns their could be.
