Support people who need help to carry out their daily lives such as helping them make their food or take medication. Support them to access the community such as going on walks or could be going to the cinema, shop anything that they want to do really as well as making sure that they are healthy physically.
This apprenticeship has helped me develop my communication skills with other members of staff as well as how to adequately communicate with the individuals that we support. Also I have learnt how to adequately support the individuals in a person centred way and overall it has been a good experience.
I enjoy my programme very much, when I was at school I never really enjoyed coming in to do work but now I am doing this apprenticeship there hasn't been one day where I haven't wanted to come in to work and learn more about these people it has been a good experience.
The programme has been well structured, the work side of the apprenticeship has been good as you know what you will be studying in that session and what is required of you and before anything was started they went through what i would be learning and when which is nice.
I believe I receive a lot of support from my employer, whenever there is something I am unsure of or, I want some feedback on an activity I have just carried out they are there to help and improve your overall standard of work and to help you pass your apprenticeship.
There is lots of support from my provider as if I have any questions about anything or I am unsure of a date such as our next meeting then I can message them and have a response within minutes which is nice to know they aren't just giving you yours work and forgetting about you.
The work I am doing with my provider helps my develop the skills I will need for the workplace such as communication, they taught my how to communicate effectively and how to look out for signs of depression, abuse etc which I believe will be very useful in the future.
There are chances to go out and get to know your colleagues better such as out of work training to help us get to know each other better, but due to the virus I have not been able to experience any extra curricular acitivies due to everything being closed unfortunately.
Yes
I believe they don't just care about getting you through your course but they care about you as a person, and want to know if you need any extra support with any of the work you are asked to finish or if you are struggling with anything that they could help with.
I would say to go ahead and apply as in my experience they are one of the best providers around as from what some of the people I know who are also doing apprenticeships there are some providers who just want you to get the work done and that's it.
