  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a client management apprentice, I tend to support on the governance of clients/schemes. On a day-to-day basis my role generally involves meeting prep, drafting documents and emails for clients and attending internal meetings. Work varies on each client, so no two days are the same.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Whilst being at Aon I have improved on communication and presenting skills dramatically. I have also gained new task-specific skills, which I plan to continue building on.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Definitely one of the best decisions I've made. I've been able to gain new skills, network and meet new people, and get a head start on my career. I've also had great help along the way.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • You have lots of support from those around you (client teams, buddy, mentor etc). There are also regular training sessions which are very useful. With regular calls to track your progress, workload and answer of queries in terms of study content, there is support at every step of the way.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Aon provide constant help and support. With people such as your buddy to wider client teams and colleagues in other offices, everyone is easily approachable and happy to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Monthly catch ups are arranged to talk through your progress and answer any queries. The training provider is also available outside of these sessions if anything is needed. Study sessions are also set up closer to the exam dates to ensure we are confident with the content.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I am able to link the content that I have learned to work that I complete within my role. This gives me a better understanding of the jobs, why things are done and the impact that they may have.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many opportunities to get involved in activities and events within and outside of work. For example, info-shares, team socials, volunteering etc.

  • Yes

  • There are so many opportunities to learn new skills, progress in your career and have fun whilst doing it. To add, you're never on your own. Everyone is happy to help along the way.

  • - Be confident - Get involved and support in different tasks as the chance comes - Don't be afraid to speak up and give your opinion - Ask questions
