I am a teaching assistant at an infant school and I support the teacher during learning and in small groups. I also hear children read and get resources ready.
I have been able to research a lot more into policies and procedures and schools as an organisation. I have also managed to pass my ICT Functional skills.
I enjoy putting my knowledge in answering the units and have also enjoyed exploring the different units in depth. It made me learn about all aspects of a job in a school.
It is very well organised. I can access information and work easily online and my assessors have been very easy to contact and have helped me with an queries.
I receive support from the teacher I work with and was able to go off to study for my ICT exam.
I received a lot of support from my main assessor and the ICT assessor before the exam was taken. I also receive lots of support throughout completing the units.
It allows me to be more qualified in ICT and allows me to know the role in more detail and about how everything connects in the school through policies, pathways, the curriculum and practice.
We have social events where we all get together, but that has been halted due to Covid.
Yes
It has been really interesting and enjoyable and gives you a great understanding of the role. It also allows you to get up to date with Maths, English or ICT if you need to. The assessors are very easy to talk to and are there to help you every step of the way.
To make sure that they are fully committed to the studying and the off the job hours.
