I’m an RN in A&E training to be an ACP. The job involves working alongside our medical colleagues and assessing patients clinical needs using a medical model. Aiming to be an autonomous practitioner by th end of the masters
I’ve learned so much I don’t know where to begin. I’ve learned skills examination skills which are invaluable for my job role
It’s such a well laid out course, I know exactly what I’m going to be doing for the next 18 months. Our lecturers are amazing, they are approachable, encouraging, knowledgable and they know that we are all human and that life does sometimes get in the way.
The course programme is well laid out. The pre reading/ activities for each week are laid out in chronological order. We know exactly what course work/ summarise assessments we are aiming for for the entire course
I am a full time trainee and my employers are very protective on the trainee status. I am not counted in the numbers and my employers are really flexible with us. They are really invested in our work/ study and probably know more than I do about my progress
They have done mock clinical assessments with us, they have read our summarise assignments and given feedback, they want know our grades, their support has been amazing
The ACP masters is based on the national pillars of advanced practice. Their are modules to provide knowledge abs skills based on all 4 pillars
Due to Covid-19 there hasn’t been any events so far.
Yes
The ACP route is a way to advanced our career that doesn’t involve the traditional management/ desk route.
Network. The course is amazing but hard work and having the support of your fellow trainees abs qualified ACP’s will be invaluable
