I am currently working on a project as a Support Analyst and working with mobile applications, I solve user errors, run app fixes as well as releasing new versions & updates of apps. This involves a lot of team meetings & calls to progress the apps, along working with internal and external colleagues.
I have learnt so many new skills while working with Accenture such as "hard skills" and "soft skills", hard skills being technical skills such as programming languages, using application software and working with apps from a back-end point of view. Soft skills being skills such as communicating at a professional level which I have been able to develop by working with clients.
I am really enjoying my programme so far, I love learning new skills and developing skills I already have. I feel like an important member of the team and valued by my colleagues, working alongside them to gain valuable training and getting the experience I need. I am constantly learning as I work through my apprenticeship too, which I love as I can apply this knowledge to my work!
Our programme is structured so well, it made me feel comfortable when starting a new job and something totally different! I got to know the other apprentices through an internal "bootcamp" for a few weeks where we learnt valuable IT skills suited to our company and roles, as well as information about Accenture and learning about the different projects we could potentially work on. We then all go to work on different projects that we have keen interests in - we're encouraged to try as many different things as possible!
At Accenture we receive so much support, from our designated apprentice leads, our team lead's, our projects leads and we also have buddies that are older apprentices or graduates that have been in our positions which is extremely helpful! All of these people are always willing to answer any questions and are always happy to have a call or a chat, everyone is so welcoming and always check up on you.
I think we receive a lot of support from our training provider, they also are always welcome for a call, message or email whenever we need a hand. They're always happy to check over our work and we're always sent helpful resources if we need them - such as examples of work or practice questions & helpful sites.
I think as I am learning along the way with this apprenticeship I am applying all of my qualification skills within my work and also can understand the qualification more as I am getting real-time, on the job experience which is a great way of helping me retain information that I learn, making me more pro-active with my qualification work and through my actual role.
At Accenture we are a really social company, we constantly have events to join, discussions to take part in and opportunities where we can learn new skills such as training days. This gives us the chance to meet all kinds of people with different skills and experiences and mix with different people, including our Accenture colleagues around the world!
Yes
Accenture is a great company, they put so much thought and time into their apprenticeship programme and focus on making us feel welcome and providing us with valuable skills that we will use in our careers as we progress. A lot of IT knowledge isn't required for every sector of Accenture either, there are so many different departments that there is something for everyone!
My main tip would be to stand out! Be yourself and show your own flair, Accenture are really keen to broaden their workforce and have so many diverse skills in their company, show what you can do and be confident. It's easy to follow what everyone else is doing so make sure you show who you are and follow your intuition!
