I work within an agile development team improving customer journey and experience to add value to the business. I lead a small team. I'm currently working on high contact customers with smart meters, looking to reduce the amount of times they need to contact us by improving customer experience.
I have developed lots of new skills as part of my apprenticeship programme. Because I work in a agile development squad, I've been able to work on my governance skills and develop a stronger understanding for the importance of such tasks. Ive also enhanced my project manager skills further with my learnings.
I've really enjoyed the programme so far and well Babington and my employer adapted to the changes with COVID and our learning environment. It compliments my existing role with EON really well and the programme has met my expectations. My tutor is readily available and is super approachable too.
The programme with Babington is really well structured. When we started the programme we had a face to face induction (pre COVID) and they presented a road map of the programme to us and it's easy to see where you're up to and what's coming ahead. My employer allows me the time to study. The Babington online system is really easy to use, OneFile is a little less user friendly but you get used to it.
My manager has been involved with my apprenticeship from day one and is completely supportive of me completing this as they see the skills being learnt and transferred into my tole. There are several people in my immediate team that are also completing the same programme and this has proved helpful.
My tutor is really helpful and approachable. I've had to contact him several times recently and he's been understanding about this so accessing support is easy. Any problems I've had have all been understood and resolved. I enjoy working with someone who knows the role of a project manager and the complexities of working in an organisation like ours.
What I'm learning in my apprenticeship is most definately helping me in my day to day role. My manager has recognised and identified this. I've been able to put the theory I've learnt into practice, creating my own project management plans and also challenging some of our ways of working.
Prior to COVID 100%. We had a social calendar in place, often with meals or drinks organised. This has since changed, we had weekly quiz time in for us to connect as a team. We have had some social online sessions in leiu of what we had before COVID came.
Yes
I've been an employee for 19 years, it is a really good place to work. We're going through some significant change at the moment, redeployment and restructuring which has been particularly difficult, whilst I might not agree with some of the things that are happening to people, they've been good to me over the years.
The application process is now very casual, they're looking for people who are passionate about customers and not necessary with energy knowledge. If you have a special interest in customer care and can demonstrate this you'd the right fit for the job. I've been able to progress signficantly during my time.
