My job role is to prepare accounts for an array of different clients. These clients can be farmers, industrial, betting companies, fashion companies. It includes reconciling the bank and ensuring that the client documents are accurate and truthful. We prepare journals for any adjustments that are needed.
I have developed my time management, organisation and arithmetic skill. I have also learnt the actual skill of accountancy. We use software such as excel, so I have developed my IT skills further. I am also now more confident in public speaking and can present confidently and professionally.
I really enjoy working at RSM. It is a good company to work for as they are within the Top 10 accounting firms in the world. Since working at RSM, I have had some good opportunities and been able to grow with the company.
The programme is structured well. It allows you time in between exams to focus on work which helps to develop your skill in the field, and also allows less pressure to be on you when the exams do occur.
My line manager and head of department are both very good people and have helped me tremendously especially over the last couple of months. They often tell me that I am improving and that they can see my potential, which pushes me to exceed even further.
BPP are very good and the tutors are very quick to respond. I just think the communication between BPP and RSM can be a little better as sometimes things can get mislead / confusing.
I 100% believe that my qualification has allowed me to do well at my job role, as without going through the qualification I wouldnt have been able to succeed as I am doing. Vice versa at work too.
Yes. I am apart of the social committee, and we have an input for the social activities that the office takes part in. I have regular catch ups with a 'staying connected' team who also develop new ideas for the office to stay connected during lockdown.

I believe RSM is a good platform to start your journey with accounting. It is not as pressurised as the big 4 so perfect for people who are joining as a school leaver. It is a nice place to work with friendly colleagues.
Stay true to yourself. Go in to the interview with research of the company, and ensure you have questions to ask at the end. Dont be afraid to ask questions. Make sure you are prepared to find a work life balance at a young age.
