Within my stream, Business Services and Outsourcing, I am involved in monthly bookkeeping, VAT return preparation on a monthly and quarterly basis, and Statutory Account preparation.
I have learnt more about the practical application of accounting and developed key communication, planning and technical knowledge.
I am thoroughly enjoying my programme as it has been delivered at a good pace.
As my sector is different from the Audit stream, there are not as many apprentices taking the same route as I am so the process has not been smoothed out as much as the other programmes but it still has a good foundation.
I receive full support from all members in the firm. Full college days off with study leave for the exam day, etc, as well as colleagues always being around to help. Our Professional Qualifications team also books all college days and exams.
I receive full support from my training provider - I have a talent coach that ensures I am meeting standards and all deadlines. He also helps me to prepare my AAT portfolio, providing support and a structured approach. All learning is fully supported with many online videos covering topics.
My qualification provides necessary technical knowledge to undertake all day to day responsibilities.
As I joined my firm during the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a limited amount of socials, all taking place online. Once restrictions have eased, there will be more socials, professional networking events and activities.
