  • On a day to day basis I help to repair and maintain the telecommunications network

  • I have learnt lots of new skills, as I had not worked in the telecoms industry before, however I have previously had practical hands on jobs.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme was very enjoyable, learning along the way instead of having to sit in a classroom to learn and then being expected to know everything. I enjoyed leaning the basics and then building my knowledge by doing the job.

  • The programme is very well structured and really easy to follow.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support. If i am ever in need of help there is always a colleugue available to help out or even offer assistance over the phone.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I recieved the support i required. due to covid things were a little more difficult as all of the programme was completed online via teams meetings and email so responses took a little longer than if it was face to face in a classroom.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that the qualification I have completed has been beneficial too me as i have had to go back over tasks that I dont carry out as regularly as other to refresh my memory, and i have saved the information when i had found it for future reference.

  • Yes

  • Openreach is very supportive f its employees and offers a secure future to its employees.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
  • If applying for a job at openreach make sure you are cut out to be a hands on person working outside in all weathers.
