Day to day my roles can range from creating assets for our website and advertisements to designing emails and invitations for events/ updates. I usually have a mix of meetings and independent work and am responsible for thinking of ideas on improving the marketing department to ensure Christie’s is ahead of it’s competitors.
Since working at Christie’s I have been able to developed skills from college and also learn new ones. At college I started using the Adobe design suite and have further developed my expertise with these tools since joining Christie’s. I have also newly learnt the benefits of tools such as Figma and Google web designer.
I find the programme to be highly enjoyable. I have met some amazing people throughout and really enjoy the work I do. It has been great to learn about the art world further and be immersed in the culture, I have also taken some interesting courses during my time here.
My apprenticeship is structured, however it also offers me a lot of flexibility which is amazing. I have scheduled Multiverse training days throughout the months. Plus every week I have team meetings to discuss everybody’s schedules and our manager makes sure workload is being distributed evenly. I find the flexibility helps me manage working from home.
Christie’s has been so supportive since I started. The recruitment team still keeps up to date with us all and I have a network of fellow apprentices to rely on as well. My team make me feel very welcome and are always happy to help when I need it.
Multiverse is a great training provider. They offer you a coach which allows you to form a comfortable relationship with said mentor making it easy to communicate any concerns etc. They are also really proactive with running events and highlighting the importance of networking for apprentices with likeminded career aspirations.
The qualification I am working towards is tailored towards digital marketing, whereas my day to day role is more of a digital designer. However I still find the education helps me to understand a lot about the business I work for and where the assets I design are distributed/ their effect.
At Christie’s they run heaps of events, since starting I have attended multiple apprentice events and a few charity events, including wine tasting. You are also given the opportunity to enrol in classes for example Art Law, which is a great opportunity to learn and broaden you art knowledge further.
Yes
I would recommend Christie’s to a friend as I believe it is a great company to work for and an amazing experience all in all. The people you meet and location are all part of that experience. I have learnt so much since working here and am excited for the next year!
For those applying to Christie’s, I recommend doing your research about the company, learn it’s history, values, maybe even brush up on its competitors as this will help you answer questions. Mainly though it is important to be yourself and don’t shy away from voicing your opinions or being vulnerable about your weaknesses.
