  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I fibre to the premise (service delivery), my role is to work on behalf of the SP by connecting the customer to the existing network. in simple words is to provide the fibre connection from CBT to the ONT (optical terminal which connect to the customer router) fibre broadband connection. Typical day to day involve going to the pole or UG, check the light level and connect the cable (Hybrid OH or UG), pull it to the customer house and then put CSP outside and ONT inside (splice it) then the broadband should be connected....

  • I learn a lot of new skills and developed the existing one.

  • 1000%, really luck and happy i decided to join openreach apprenticeship programme

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • induction, Training, support is fantastic. Over all experience and from training, buddying and going live is fantastic. The amount of support and help we get as new trainee it just mind blowing. I feel that as part of the team from day one.

  • I am supported from the top down, which mean my manager, HR, generally easy way to access and seek support

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I enjoyed my time at CTTS and my Tutor and peers were really supportive and we help each other in order to succeed on the course. great time there. programme well organised.

  • I am using what i have been taught in order to do my work.

  • Not, at moment but i believe we have and i will look out for it.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
  • Application process is straight forward, Great experience a lot of opportunity to move up to different area of the company, and your skills can open more doors for you once your are inside. Support and help from across the board of the company.
