  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Connecting Fibres either overhead on poles or underground in joint boxes. Pulling cables in through ducts, or installing fibre over head. Currently still in training at a training school in Southampton. So very excited with the upcoming courses. Every day seems to be different and full of learning which is great. Never feel out of place and always given the correct information and methods of practice

  • 9b. Why?
  • I genuinely feel like this company is great, work life balance is spot on, you can do overtime if you’d like to, your safety is there main priority. They give you top of the range tools, uniform, access equipment, materials, work phone, laptop the list goes on. I’m hoping this will be a job for life because openreach is that good.

  • Research the company’s values, have some knowledge about the company because some of it is incredible. It’s a scary process, but do not stress everyone you meet, wether it be online on a teams meeting or face to face at your first induction week to the business, they all make you feel so welcome and will help you with whatever you need. I’ve never felt more welcomed into a business. And I would highly recommend it to anyone.
