  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a Operations Analyst involves managing I.T faults and working with various support teams to get these resolved and fixed so that LBG can maintain its service to customers. I am responsible for engaging subject matter experts and making sure they find a resolution to the errors and failures that we as a team monitor.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have gained a few I.T qualifications, such as ITIL V3 and my own personal skills such as communication, presentation and team work skills. I have also developed a greater understanding of a large I.T infrastructure works.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the responsibility and also unpredictability of this job, as any kind of failure can happen and it will have different effects so there are lots of new experiences. I enjoy my team on my shift and the many people I have met throughout the company.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Lloyds Banking Group?
  • I feel quite valued but being in a large company can sometimes feel daunting due to the feeling of being 'just a number'. But I have been involved in projects to benefit my team and when these have been a success, the praise and recognition is rewarding.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My induction was well organised but did start to get lost within the middle of my programme as training became scarce and communication was not as constant. Most of my studying comes from on the job and this helps me feel very confident within my role.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I received a lot of support from my training provider at LearnDirect, who was always there to help and was more than happy to explain my targets over the phone in an informal manner that worked best for me. I enjoyed the work I have done with my training assessor as I had flexibility of whether to do the work at home or in the office.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive the most support from my Team Leader and manager within my department. HR have been great in arranging training courses but not always been there to support me during my job role.

  • It meets it very well and I am content with my salary package.

  • yes. There are opportunities to join sports groups, local and at other sites across the UK.

  • - Be formal but friendly as Lloyds are looking for engaging and enthusiastic individuals who show potential to have a great career within the company. - Be confident in your ability and when you are inside the company, it is important to remember that help is always available, just ask!
