  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day to day life at BAE has been amazing so far. Everyone here is absolutely lovely and are always happy to help with any questions i have. I have been doing stock taking and sending emails asking for quotes. Once my security clearance is through i will be building machines as well

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It makes me very happy to work at BAE. Most days when i come home from the job i end up talking about just how much i am enjoying to virtually anyone who will listen to me. It has been great feeling like i am being helpful around the office and doing jobs that will benefit others

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It has been very well structured. My colleagues set out tasks for me to do and i go away and do them. If i ever need any help or guidance they are always there to offer it which is great. No questions have felt silly or unnecessary to ask them.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received plenty of support from my employer throughout this whole process. Even with issues that haven't been theirs to fix they have gone out their way to try and help me with them because they were higher up in the company and had the connections to help

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have had a meeting with them and they showed me around the college. They done this in their own time which was very nice of them. They are giving me great guidance on how to fill out the paperwork and there was great communication between them and my company

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It has been very smooth between both the employer and the trainee as they have talked together to try and work out what it is that needed to be set up so i was ready to come into the workplace. I was impressed with how much i wasn't ending up the middle man

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes i have been told about many of these. There has been a virtual escape room as well as an online baking session and a gaming night playing among us which all sounds very fun also a movie night has been set up as well to get everyone involved at some point

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because of how amazing this company has been to me and how healthy the workplace environment is with everyone being so helpful and understanding it makes me enjoy my job so much more and anyone who is working deserves to go to work feeling excited about what that day has to offer

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Just be very open and honest about everything and keep asking questions because someone will always find an answer for you. The paperwork process is long but it is so worth it so stick to it and get an apprenticeship at this place. The wage is amazing for an apprentice also which is just a bonus to everything else
