My role will be to be assigned on different clients and then within the team I will be given workpapers to complete on various parts of the testing. This could be for example to check their sales transaction, then we will get evidence from the client. If this doesnt agree, we will hold meetings with them.
I have definitely developed my confidence and time organisation skills. We have to make sure we can balance our uni work and exams alongside the job and make sure we are meeting deadlines. I have learnt new technical skills too such as proficiency in Excel and learning to use sampling software.
I really enjoy my programme and think an apprenticeship was definitely the right choice for me. I get to study and have my qualifications paid for and get on-the-job work experience and a salary at the same time, its the best option out there. I really enjoy the combination of it
My programme is very well-organised as they have had experience of running these for a number of years, compared to some companies where the scheme is newer. They give us study leave for exams, set time for uni, training and coursework allowances and a structured performance review process in place.
We get a lot of support from our employer, there is a set team in place to solve any issues or queries. Aside from that, we have lots of mental health programmes in place, a buddy and performance manager to turn to if needed and a manager within each engagement team
Yes
The apprenticeship is well-structured, enjoyable and rewarding. We learn a lot every day and develop very quickly in a short space of time. KPMG as a company is very diverse, accepting and accomodating and the culture and people are so nice to work in. I really enjoy work every day.
Just go for it. In either outcome, you've gained an invaluable application experience and will have got a really good idea of what an assessment centre will consist of. Look into the company and look at the values as that will show that you are prepared and stand for the same things as them
