I have meetings with stakeholders and colleagues, discussing future work, issues and requirements for projects. I make data science solutions for the company, applying techniques such as machine learning to solve problems. I perform presentations, often sharing the outcomes of technical projects with the relevant stakeholders.
I have learnt many new skills such as : Advanced programming skills (Python). Advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques. SQL programming skills. Cloud services skills such as AWS. Written and visual communication skills. Time-management and organizational soft skills.
It couldn't get any better. My managers always map me to projects I find interesting, and allow me to work on problems with material impact. My colleagues, however senior they may be, are friendly and are great mentors for me.
It is well organised and structured. It allows me to do my job and also my studies without the two clashing.
I receive a great deal of support from them. My manager is always happy to check in and provide me the resources I need to do my job. There is a clear boundary between my job hours and my study hours.
There are some useful skills such as writing and structuring essays. However, I feel as though the degree programme could be significantly improved.
Yes. There are many activities such as book clubs, hobby groups and sports teams.
Yes
There is a ton of interesting and meaningful work to be done. The work culture is great, with people always helping each other to succeed, where learning is embraced and failure is considered a means of learning.
Spend a good amount of time researching Roche. Try to find something very specific, and discuss what interests you about this thing. Make sure you have a good understanding (even if it's high-level) of the key skills and techniques for whatever job you are applying for.
