I take care of children, I.e change nappies make sure their development is upto date
I have learnt many new skills while doing my apprenticeship such as keeping confidentiality while dealing with an accident form. Ive learnt about safeguarding and have the nursery revolves a lot around safeguarding and making sure the children are safe and happy in the environment we work in.
I enjoy my work I think I’ve made great bonds with the staff and children, I’m able to say I have grown in a lot of ways such as my confidence is better since being in the job especially knowing that I can talk to people if I’m stuck or feel down in any way. I’m a little disappointed with my maths as it has been quite hard getting to grasps with all the paperwork as it stresses me out a lot as I feel obliged to get all the answers correct.
I’d say my program has been ok structure wise sometimes I find it hard to admit that I’m struggling so I keep it quiet, but I’ve had a lot of support wether it be from my tutor to my staff members everyone has helped me even if I’m ashamed to admit I need help sometimes. I have completed training on the side to develop my understanding on autism, dyslexia and adhd just in case I have to deal with a child or staff that has special needs in the future.
I’d say its been 70/100 sometimes I have to ask my manager to message my tutor as I’m ashamed to get in touch myself. I don’t like to feel in the wrong. My tutor has helped me a lot throughout my apprenticeship wether its from getting me support for my maths or talking me through things I can improve on in childcare. I’m grateful for the support from my manager and coworkers as they have been there to read through my work notes and direct me into fitting information that I have missed.
Again my tutor has helped me when I’ve been able to ask for help, she has been there and guided me to doing the best that I can do.
My qualification is amazing and I’m so glad to have come this far, if I was back in school and someone asked what I wanted to be I wouldn’t have said childcare but I’m so glad to say I work in childcare and I know that ill be able to carry on doing this for a while. No day is a dull day in. Childcare I’m always smiling while coming. Into work because I know I’m doing what I love
I do clubbercise on the side from working as I love to dance and the children know when we play music I’m always there dancing. Also I do babysitting I’ve advertised on facebook and got a few responses with the current circumstances I’ve not been able to do it.
Yes
Overall I think realise has been good and shown me that I can achieve what I’ve set out to do
Less paper online I struggle to type it up and read better when writing things down and drawing diagrams.
