I work in customer services, my role includes crediting back customers and re issuing them with a new invoice if the original one sent out is incorrect. I work with account managers on a day to day basis and occasionally with other teams throughout the business. My role is generally internal, i don't usually speak to anyone outside the company.
I have learnt several new skills since joining Softcat. I have developed confidence over the phone and with getting to know new people. I have also gained greater knowledge in structuring emails and how or when to use formal or informal language. I have learnt how to use my team with challenges and gaining to confidence to ask for help when needed as everyone is looking for the same outcome.
The programme is very enjoyable, the people at Sorftcat are easy to get on with and always make day to day work seem fun. They offer lots of incentives and rewards to recognise people for their hard work which encourages me to work hard and makes it a happier place because even if I dont win an award, someone else will.
The programme is well organised and structured. All apprentice managers have regular meetings to discuss whats going on, any concerns and any recognition they would like to give. The students get regular learning time with Remit every couple of weeks to learn new content, and we are encouraged to have catch up calls with out cohort to make sure we build relationships.
I receive a great amount of support from my employer. We have regular one to ones to catch up about my apprenticeship and my day to day role. We talk about any concerns or anything we can do better to help support me, my team also help with my work load so what i dont get overwhelmed.
I receive a lot of support from Remit, we have regular catch ups. We have 1 one to one every month as well as 1 group session every month, this allows me to bring up any concerns i have or any queries. In these sessions, we go over new content, it is helpful that we get a one to one session every month as this gives me the chance to go at whatever pace is best for me.
The qualification has helped me learn several things about business administration. This helps with my day to day role because part of the module content covers management, teams, learning styles etc which everyone uses on a daily basis. It has also helped my build relationships with the rest of my cohort, which has helped me with my job because i can see what they get up to in their teams
There are several networking activities and events through out the business. Anyone can join them at any time, this helps people widen their relationships and get to know other people in Softcat who they may not usually speak to however share the same interests. We have also had a couple of challenges to encourage people to get outdoors, especially over lockdown.

They also offer support when needed and will always look after you when there is a problem.
Softcat love to see a bubbly side, so just be yourself. Try to build as many relationships as possible when you first start as this will make your time at Softcat really fun and enjoyable. Make sure to speak up if you have any concerns or questions as there will always be support when needed.
