Assisting and learning about the production of the cars throughout the leather shop
I have learnt how to Sew, Embroider, Emboss and upholster parts and seats
I really enjoy the workplace aspect, feeling part of the team and to grips with how the plant works. I also enjoy the off work training as well learning and honing skills that I will keep with me and keep developing.
There’s no specific criteria that I have seen in what we are supposed to be putting into our assessed logbooks but the lecturers do have a good idea about what’s needed as I don’t think they have been given it either
I can’t fault them on support, there are always people who reassure you that if you need anything or have any problems come to them, bi weekly meetings with managers and mentors etc.
The knowledge they have on the subject seems infinite, no question is left un answered
It backs up the fundamental aspect of my role of learning the different processes in the plant by providing a proving ground before the real thing allowing me to work through my process witch only affect me not wider production.
I have heard of things like this but I am yet to see them because of the Coronavirus Pandemic
