Installing and servicing virgin media customers for broadband tv and phone. Installs consist of installing either tv broadband or landline for the customer in there house. Services consist of making sure that there broadband landline and tv are working correctly. If there was a fault make sure that this was sorted before leaving.
The skills I have developed in my role are communication with customers and gaining speaking skills more confidently. Learning new skills such as drilling, tacking on exterior walls. Using equipment the correct way such as ladders. Helping to improve broadband services so that customers can search the web happily.
The programme is great! You learn new skills everyday and the best thing everyday is different and you meet new people. Also the staff and co workers are very friendlt and helpful as are the team at gka who run the studying side to the apprenticeship. Love it so far!
The programme is very organised and structured. We have great communication in our teams to help each other out. The structure is great and well set out to work fast and efficient each day. If there ever was a problem there is always steps or help to guide you through the way.
I receive amazing support from my employer. I'm asked every week wether I am okay and how I'm getting on by my manager. My mentor is always there to help me if I'm stuck. And gka help us to file what we do in the field and show what we have learnt
I get good support from my training provider as they email me information and have a great training platform to work from and upload our work. We have 121 sessions each month to review our progress towards the apprenticeship to see where we can improve and what we are doing well at.
My training provider helps me to perform better as if reviews my progress and goes through with me the good skills that I have and the skills I need to improve one which makes every individual better in the long run. The company want you to learn more and want the best for you
There are sports events such as football that we can take part in that various employees compete in. This gives the chance for all new starters to get to know others and build a chemistry with managers. This also keeps your fit and takes your mind away from work in the evening and is good for your well-being.

I would recommend virgin media to a friend as they look after there employees. The pay is great. They also have great bonuses to work for. And the discount within the business are amazing. Anyone would be happy to work for this company as they have got such a great name for themselves.
I would 100% recommend any friend to apply to virgin media. I'd give them advise such as they will always want someone that's hard working, respectful, confident speaking and ready for a challenge. I have already advised a few of my friends to apply for job roles within the company.
