my role is to provide a cable to different point of the network in under ground structures boxes and ducts, on day to day basis id open various boxes in the ground making sure that there is connection between all of them so its easy to feed the cable in
yes i have learned numerous different skills, i have learned how to use various tools and different machinery such as cable feeding machine and cable blowing machine, there are many more tools and machines to use in the company ive learned how to use gas detectors so I am safe doing my job
I like it alot, I am actually excited to get up in the morning and going to work, working with a amazing team solving many different problems and working indifferent areas in the fresh air, even the paperwork is quite enjoyable, overall so far so good hopefully itll stay this way
from day one when i joined every step of the journey was well organised, you can clearly see how it was thought out specially with the whole pandemic going on, every day and task was in place to make sure that we the new starters were trained and ready to go live
so far i have not had any majr issues with the programme or the actuale work, the compamy have provded me with everything i need in terms of ppe and all the tools i need for the job, they have also provided me with access to the stores where i can get what i need.
so far the support form the training provider was amazing, they have provided me with both physical training on how to use the tools and different techniques to do my job and also with the admin side of it, they are making sure that i have enough time to work on the qualifications as well by providing me with 10 workshops that will help me with the apprentership
openreach as training provider been in the business for years an they have all the skills and they know how to get it done, the training they provide will make me a better at my job and the qualification will confirm my ability on working in my role that im wokring on
at the minute i have been concentrating on the role and training that i am doing and alco on the apprentership there for i have not heart about any activities or workshops as of yet,. i am pretty sure there are loads of activities and social stuff that i could join

beacause this is a great company to work for from what ive heard from others and also from my own experience, they have made sure that i am welcomed to the company, updated in what is happening, they have provided me with all the training an tools for the job and the money is very good
just be yourself . be a grater and show them that you are willing to work an that you will stick to the training and the procedures that they are teaching you, make sure that you obey heath and safety procedures, working safe and the company will look after you i all aspects
