On a daily basis I have to gather data regarding previous day inspection, organize the data, create presentations, conduct process observations, update manuals, as well as investigate any defects or discrepancies that may have occurred. I am also required to search through large amounts of data to find specific items of concern, figure out the point of origin and eliminate that point of concern.
I have developed a keen eye for detail, as well as developed my knowledge of the product as well as learned not to take things too personally. I have also further developed my teamwork and leadership skills, listening skills have also vastly been improved as I need to make sure I listen to instructions vary carefully.
I enjoy the programme a lot as I am provided with many different work opportunities that I would not normally get. Sometimes the stress of the workload dose affect me and I begin to enjoy the programme a little less while other times I feel like its the best job in the world.
The programme was very well structured and I always know what I was doing and what would come next. However the company was not prepared for COVID-19 and thus a after the company went on furlough, the pragramme organization has also collapsed. Now that the the pandemic is slowly coming to an end the organization is seeing a drastic improvement.
My employer is willing to provide me with as much support as I need. Personally I'm not the type of person that seeks support all that often but others on the same programme as myself receive a lot of support whenever they have a question or if they are unsure of something.
Just like my employer the training provider also provides us with as much support as we need. Even during lockdown the training providers made sure to have as many options of reaching them available to us and even went as far as to give us a call once a month to check up on how everyone was doing.
Unfortunately I don't think that the qualification is relevant to my role and thus dose not help me preform better at it. The qualification is about manufacturing as thus we create different part through the use of lathes while away from work. But at work I spend most of the day sitting behind a desk looking through large amounts if data and so I don't think that knowing how to turn a screw on a lathe is very helpful when it comes to data digging.
The company offers some extra curricular activities such as gardening and bee keeping (the company keeps a bee hive) but apart from that there really no other activities to take part in after work. The associates do go out as a group to have fun go carting or air soft but these activities are not organist by the company.
Yes
It is a lot of fun to work for the BMW group with many opportunities and benefits. Despite all the short comings or the seemingly large amounts of work, it is still a lot of fun. Working for the company also fills me, personally, with large amount of pride, to be able to say that "I work for the BMW" group, one of the largest car companies on the planet, makes me extremely happy and I believe that it would make others that come to work here just as happy.
The name and the brand can be very intimidating for new comers but once they step through the doors they will realize that everyone that works here be it managers or just regular level associates are all super friendly and welcoming. Biggest advice I can give to someone is to just be themselves when applying to work here and to not fear or feel intimidated by the brand.
