I work on the service delivery team for the fibre side of the network. My day to day jobs include installation or repair to this network and is typically done either overhead or underground. Other work may include surveying jobs before they go out for installation to the customer too.
I have in my short spell with the company so far managed to learn quite a few new skills and developed on some of the pre existing skills I had prior to working with the company. Some new skills include, working safely at a great height and also working underground.
I have enjoyed the programme I am on quite a lot so far and has been a great journey and insight into the company itself and how they operate and deliver their great service to the public and its customers. Overall my programme to this date has been a success.
The programme is very well structured and i have absolutely no complaints so far as all the training I have needed has been provided. All the tools I have needed have been also and any help that I have required has been given to me and has helped me along the journey.
Same as previous answer really, I have absolutely no complaints so far as all the training I have needed has been provided. All the tools I have needed have been also and any help that I have required has been given to me and has helped me along the journey.
I have received quite a lot of support so far from my training provider when working towards my qualifications and have felt like I have been set up to pass and have been led down the right road with all the great support and couldn't of asked for anymore.
All of the qualifications that I have been put forward to succeed in so far help me to perform better in my role as I not only have the knowledge and skills to carry out my role but have also been shown how to perform them in a safe manner.
So far I have not been told about any other extra curricular activities that I can get involved in. However I have been more focusing on learning the job itself and all the other things that come with the day to day running of the company and its colleagues who have all been great.
Yes
Openreach is a great company to work for in my experience with them to this date. I find they generally have the respect of the community and provide an excellent service to the public. Also they do look after their employees and set you up with all the tools, skills and knowledge you need to succeed.
Be patient as I had to be with the current situation being in Covid times, but once you get your opportunity to apply do not hesitate and try your best to give the job a go. As like myself I had never done anything like this before but have found it so rewarding.
