Managing contractors, contracts, schedules, interfaces, teams, designers etc. Working with various teams to ensure activities are completed and allow the project to progress.
I have developed the following skills: - Communication - Leadership - Management - Coordination - Working under pressure Etc.
I really enjoy it, it is perfectly aligned to my job role (Assistant Project Manager), for which I work on a construction project. I am learning a lot on the job and through my course so I can't fault it. My university is very well organised which helps a lot.
Very, my university has a lot of experience and they have many initiatives, ways of working, support channels etc. in place to help make everything easier.
A huge amount, I could not ask for more support. If I need more time on my uni course I will get it, if I need to work flexibly I can, if I need to get exposed to new areas of work I will work on a new project.
A huge amount, I have regular check ins with my uni, my tutors have a great team and are always on hand to help.
A huge amount, I am much more knowledgeable now in terms of construction and management, which has enabled me to excel in the project work I am involved with.
Yes, there are get togethers with other apprentices, channels to speak to others in, initiatives across the projects I work on etc.
Yes
It's a great place to work, they value their staff highly, they are very flexible, they work on great projects, there is a lot of trust across the firm, there is a lot to learn both internally and externally and it is great
Do your research, go for a job you are interested in, you cannot beat being enthusiastic. Be yourself, don't stress and give it your all.
