I enforce CASS rules that are set by the FCA through creating and managing controls, i also complete project work alongside BAU. These projects include the moving of products from one entity of the bank to another, the demise of products and the changing of procedures as per CASS rules.
Yes. I have learnt more about risks and regulations and how these apply to our bank as a whole. I have also learnt new skills in managing my time and my own workload, and have become more proactive in seeking out solutions to issues i face through the project work i complete.
I'm massively enjoying what i'm doing at the moment. The team that i work with have been very welcoming and have supported my apprenticeship as well by giving me time if i need it. My role challenges me as it's something completely new to what i have done in the past however i'm definitely enjoying it.
I think the structure is good. I am given plenty of time to complete my apprentichip as well as my full time role. I think at first there were a lot of un answered questions however now that we've got into it i'm definitely finding it a lot better
the support i have received so far has been fantastic. My colleagues have offered to help with my assignments and my manager has set up overviews with lots of different steakholders to expose me to different roles. They have also tried to cater what i'm doing in my role to run alongside my modules and assignments to give me as much help as possible.
I have found the support great. Any time i have had questions my lecturer gets back to be promptly and the same with other members of the library team. I find that sometimes the lecturers are quite rushed however as i say, i can always ask any questions on the forum afterwards if i need to
To be honest the first assignment / topic didn't really enhance my performance at work, I feel like, in the role that i'm in i couldn't really use the information that i'd learned. However the new topic of risk i think i may be able to use in my role by giving me more knowledge of risk appetite.
Obviously we're quite limited at the moment with what we can do due to COVID, however i have volunteered to be part of the HSBC Work Experience Programme by helping in breakout rooms on zoom. I take part in Webinars when they are relevant to my role and i am hoping to do some volunteering later on in the year but it's not being organized at the moment.
Yes
I fins that the support that they give it always great. They take any problem you have very seriously and make sure they can get a solution for you. They're very accommodating and flexible with working patterns (where possible). Also, the benefits that go along with the employment are also very good such as pension and life insurance etc.
I would encourage people to be open and honest when going for a role. If you need special requirements such as different work pattern then let them know. I would also say it's important to prepare well for the interview. It's always a very stringent onboarding process which can be difficult so preparation is definitely important.
