  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Working in a cluster level Programme Management Office (PMO) entails: daily interaction with project and programme managers as well as other stakeholders; producing documentation to comply with corporate protocols and processes and ensuring our resource profile is in line with ERP data.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • First and foremost I have a new found level of confidence due to daily to interation with people form all walks of life.I fell my oral and written communication has improved. I am also looking to enroll on the Prince2 course.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my day to day job with everyday being differnt. I have luckily found myself in a new directorate, with a very supportive team.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Civil Service?
  • On the whole i feel valued by the majority of people, however there is occassionally some grade-discrimination from colleagues outside my immeadiate area.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • On the whole pretty poor. The communication from both internal and external comms is poor and i have found 3rd party assessors/teachers not to be the standard i expected (so far).

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My mentor is great and i have regular face to face meetings with him. However Capita on the whole have been unimpressive.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager is superb; he has lots of patience and encorouges me to try new things.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • For an apprentice it's easily one of the best on the market.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There is a limited number and i really feel that internal Civil Service Resourcing should have a greater emphasisi on providing informal networking opportunities.

  • Yes

  • It's an amazing opportunity to earn a proper salary whilst continuing to learn .

  • Just be yourself.
