My role involves driving busses and make sure that the busses conform to all the laws and regulations before taking it out on the road. We check the bus for cleanliness and comfort so our passengers can feel nice and safe while using our services. I give advices to lost passengers and point them in the right direction.
I have gone from never even riding the bus as a passenger to a fully trained professional bus driver. I now have ambitions to take my career even further and Realise has helped me with training me towards functional skill in English and Maths which i both manage to pass on level 2.
I always enjoy our training sessions they are very informative and professional yet seems very informal so you can work on your own pace. This helps everyone to learn faster and better in my opinion. The training development officer will tailor to your needs and is always available for advice even outside the training sessions.
The structure is completely laid out for you on your first day. Everything works in blocks and small portions so you never feel overwhelmed. If you do feel overwhelmed the training development officer will help you out one to one so you can easily catch up. I would say the structure is brilliant and extremely helpful.
My employer gives you all the time needed of the job without any question. On our depot we got designated driving trainers who are always available for any questions or doubts you have while on the job and they always reassure you that if you are not sure about something simply do not do it. Very understanding and supportive.
I can not explain enough how much support Realise has provided to me over the last months. I can always email or even call my training development officer on the mobile for advice. I have been provided with tailored work for my level and to give me extra credit on the needed topics.
This qualification should help me to be better in my job and hopefully help me climbing the company ladder. So far as an apprentice I am already asked to become a union representative which is an amazing opportunity to learn more about the behind the curtain workings. My ambition is to become a desk inspector and then maybe more.
At our workplace we got several of these activities. There is a thunder ball game, a social club that organises party's and every Sunday there is a football team. These are all well organised and fun to do. The football team also joins in competitions whit other depots and charity teams.
Yes
Realise has been extremely helpful and supportive. They have removed all the doubts I had while on the job and made me a confident professional driver. The training development officers are approachable and nice to work with. Small classes make sure you get plenty of time in and work towards your qualification on your own terms yet well whiting the given timeframe.
I would say that just go for it. Give them a call to find out they are easy to talk to and I am sure they are willing to explain their way of training to you. They will elevate you to a higher level of expertise and way of working.
