Day to day I work on the assembly line which is where i work on a station which i have trained on and i will complete a task for example: console build, this is where i will assemble components and fit them to the vehicle. I will also sometimes be tasked with project work which has been set to me by my Line manager, this can involve a variety of things.
I have definitely learnt new skills since working with BMW group, I have learnt a lot of information within the automotive industry and feel much more confident in myself as a person in the fact that i do not worry about communicating with others and putting my opinion out there to be heard.
I enjoy my programme as i feel we have the best opportunity to learn a qualification at the same time as working on job and getting real life experience, we have clear communication between ourselves and the college as well as with our employer. They also are in contact to check how we our doing on our apprenticeship.
It is as well organized as it could be during COVID-19 and i feel that considering the situation we have been dealt with accordingly, College give us a lot of support and we know who the people are at work who we need to contact if there are ever any issues.
We receive enough support from our employer and can contact our apprenticeship coach or HR if we have any pastoral issues. They check in with us and make sure we are on track at college and are happy with what we are working on at work and if we need any help.
Our training provider supports us fully when it comes to college work and if we are ever struggling we can message or email them and we will receive a response very quickly with support. They always ensure we are on track and keeping up and encourage us if we are falling behind at all.
Our qualifications are not 100 percent related to what we take part in at work however there is information that we learn that becomes useful to know when you are in the workplace and the theory side of it helps when it comes to problem solving at work if we are struggling.
No currently i do not get involved with extra curricular activities as i am not aware we have any at RRMC however i do in my spare time and would happily get involved if there was some within the workplace. I play golf and football in my spare time so it would be perfect
Yes
Because they are a great company to work for and they give you a lot of opportunities and support you thoroughly. The apprenticeship programs are a very good way of expanding your knowledge and learning on job at the same time. Yes, i would definitely recommend it to a friend.
I would suggest having good qualifications and you should have some work experience before starting as i came straight from school with only little work experience and it was a big step up going straight into a full working environment. However if you are used to this then it will be fine.
