  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am currently involved in two projects - A new school project where I support the PM with attending meetings, writing meeting minutes, managing schedules and engaging with the client and project team. I also provide commercial support on my other project where I process invoices for a large local government client, help facilitate commissioning surveys by going out to suppliers, receiving quotations and liaising with the client for approval.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love being part of Mace as i am able to speak to new people not only on my projects but people else where in the business. The apprenticeship sessions are great not only for knowledge but for networking too. I feel i am given the perfect amount of responsibility for where i am in my career to be able to learn and grow in the future.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured very well with the training that is provided and studying time. I believe the support that is available from the talent team and everywhere in the business is really helpful and reassuring to have. I feel I could ask for support not only from my team but the other apprentices, talent team and others within the business.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel i can ask my line manger and other people within my team if I needed support. My line manager will always read over my work if I would like someone else to proof read. Everyone in my team, the other apprentices and talent team always will find time to help if it is needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The apprenticeship reviews are very helpful with keeping track with what I need to do to continue to achieve the grades in need for my degree. The support team are always friendly and available to help with any query. The module leaders are also very quick with responding to any queries whether it is via forums on the vle or emails.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I find that since studying the qualification I have been able to link things i have learnt to my everyday role as well as some things i may have learnt whilst doing my job, i have been able to include in my university work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many networking events that employees can get involved in. Volunteering is also very important at Mace, the company likes to ensure all employees have undertaken at least one day of volunteering each year to help the community.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Mace is a good place to work, that provides opportunities within consultancy and construction all over the world. The apprenticeship and graduates scheme is really popular at Mace as they have a good structure in place to support younger people in achieving their career goals with providing opportunities to study whilst gaining experience on the job.
