In the 1st year we are based at college full time. 2nd and 3rd we are on 6 month placements in various departments.
Most definitely I have learnt so many new hands skills such as wire locking split pinning. But also knowledge about aircrafts.
I enjoyed my programme alot we has many training opportunities and experiences. I think the year of covid did not help but you have ro adapt.
It was very well organised. A suggestion is I think the early careers managers should keep in contact abit more regularly about the well being of there apprentices etc.
Most of the time I have been ok and just got on with my work and met deadlines. However whenever I needed to anything the employer did support.
The tutors are excellent support is always available. A couple of times I has queries about some tasks for my assignments, and I could just email my tutor and they would be super helpful.
The qualification definitely helps with general knowledge. A few hand skills are practised however I think the practical training if possible should be more relevant to the shopfloor.
Yes there are many extra curricular activities to get involved in.
Yes
Airbus is a world leader. Its the number one aircraft manufacturer. Experience here can give you many career opportunities elsewhere but also if you stay here you have a great career ahead overall financially mentally satisfaction etc
Consider the location or you need to move closer to the workplace. Ensure you practise your maths and interview techniques.
