I am a customer team member and post office counter clerk, I help service customers and I am involved in the rotation of stock and reductions. My post office duty included servicing customers in a range of products, including mailing and banking and travel essentials. I am also involved in the balancing of the office.
I have learnt a lot of communication and how to work closer with my colleagues. How to get the best of myself and motivate my colleagues. I learnt coaching technics and how to use probing questions. On the retail side I learnt about Merchandising and position of point of sales. A lot about legal compliance and the importance of avoiding leakage for the business
I have enjoyed the course immensely. I have enjoyed the conversations with both my tutor and my apprenticeship colleagues. The conversations have allowed me to broaden my horizons and to think deeper about topics and to sort out different opinions. Writing the assignments have helped my digest these subject and get a deeper understanding, and learnt from investigating the subject
Yes it has been well structured. At first I could not quite know how to work out the computer programs like onefile, but soon learnt with tuition. Each course has a structure that seems to connect with previous subjects, and you can see the relationship in the different programmes . Each topic seems to be evolving into a greater understanding.
My support from my employer has been a bit inconsistent, due to my manager being at other stores and away from our store. But when been available he has always been helpful and given me new incite in subjects we have discussed. They have supported me and made my time available for conference calls and other time needed
My training provider has been great. I have been given extra time and tutorials when needed , and constructive feedback to help me progress further. Also help my in terms of confidence, telling me when I have done something right. Keeping myself on course and getting the relevant plan of education and the materials needed.
It has been good to help my understand how the company can make a better profit by avoiding leakage and correct stock rotation. How building a bond with colleagues help us work better with a team . Keeping staff helps build solidarity and avoid high turnover which cost the company in terms of retraining.
Our store at the moment has been slow I doing extra curricular activities at the moment. Due to a certain amount of covid 19. But we are starting to think of ways that we can do charities in store. We can start to consider outside events like meals out and getting together as a team now restrictions are easing up
Yes
Overall the coop seem to have good intentions for their employees and their customers. They give their staff opportunities to progress through systems like apprenticeships or higher learning. They also try to implement British values and get colleagues to respect each other and allow each other a point of view or in my store at least. Their products are of a high quantity and take appreciate action to keep it that way.
To get involved and be passionate about what you do. Get talking with customers and team members to build a bond that can be awarding both ways. Be willing to learn and recognising that the job can be awarding. And try and give something back to the community by talking and giving your time to others.
