My current day-to-day role consist of planning and preparing for our Holiday provisions, this will consist of handling general queries surrounding the provisions we offer for young people within the borough. I also communicate daily with stakeholders surrounding theses provisions, it is my duty to create engaging programmes that are exclusive to young people we cater to.
I have definitely developed my skills inhouse and have been given many opportunities to gain new skills eternally. Although I have used excel programmes I had the opportunity recently to take an online course to expand my knowledge in this area. This course has allowed me to working more effectively.
I enjoy this programme very much as it allows me to be myself but enhance my skill set. This is very important because as I progress with my career I still want to be myself but the best manager for my team. This programme allows me to explore various leadership types and scenarios to prepare me for my current and future role.
My programme is very organised/ structured since the start I have be guided and informed of the expectations of me and the organisation. I was told who to contact if I had queries and needed support. Staff members frequently check on me to check that I am ok with my workload/experience.
I receive a good amount of support from my employers. We have a check in at the start of the week so it's clear of what my plans/duties are, this is mostly set by myself so I am allowed to take the lead which I love as it makes me accountable and we will have a weekly recap just to go other how the teams feeling including something that went well not so well and the focus on next week.
I believe I receive a great amount of support when working towards my qualification, this is shown by my weekly check ins as this is a one on one. My employer will check that I have support where needed. My tutor will constantly be in touch to check I'm on target and whether she can offer me support/guidance.
I genuinely believe that my qualification will and has helped me preform better in my role as it gives me perspective in understanding task and the long term vision. This allows me to be strategic in doing set tasks and create a plan that will help the future of the project. I just think it has opened my eyes for the better.
Yes!!! My work place have been amazing in creating new and fun ways to keep us engaged especially during the project. Most recently during mental health awareness week we had many opportunities to explore mental health positively and it was lovely/refreshing to discuss this topic with my peers for most I have not met. Monthly there are office quizzes where we get to network also which is fun!
Yes
I would definitely recommend Let Me Play to a friend as they offer a variation of opportunities and if they can't directly help you they will utilise their contacts and support you in that way. I'd also recommend them as they are very vocal about making their employees work experience positive and they are constantly open for feedback. I have already recommend friends to them!
I'd say to be shy to ask questions, they are always happy to help you in whichever way they can whether it is directly or indirectly. Also don't feel ashamed if you are unsure about something they are extremely supportive, patient and willing to help you in whichever way then can!
