Service delivery engineer who will provide or repair the telephone line to a property to provide broadband connection.
Learned a completely new skill as I had previously worked in office jobs. Now have an NVQ in telecommunications engineering.
Once I had a regular assessor it really fell in to place and I could progress through the modules to completion.
Well structured, I do think that there are elements that have to be completed and don’t reflect the job role so it does feel like a tick box exercise at times.
Loads of support. Days are set aside to complete the work. I worked through mine in the lockdown of the COVID outbreak so had extra time which I felt was needed.
Once I was set a permanent assessor I had set days to work on the modules and had team meetings and calls regularly.
I think it helps but also unnecessary work that is not relevant and it’s time that could be better spent.
In normal circumstances then yes but we have had the COVID pandemic so restrictions have halted this for now.
Yes
Great pay and bonus. Really supportive from day one. Great job that can vary everyday.
It can be daunting at times but stuck with it. Once you get on to your patch team the support is even better and no pressure to achieve high numbers of jobs each day, just provide quality and the rest will follow.
