I work in the PCM (Product Change Management) Department at Cummins. My job is to support supervisors in my team in working on engineering changes to be made at Daventry and looking into how these changes will effect our products. I also review new orders to be built.
I have learnt so many new skills working in IT packages such as Lexus Nexus, HHP Oracle and Excel. These are transferrable to a lot of other jobs both inside and outside of the business. I have had the opportunity to network and also to grow my confidence.
I have really enjoyed being able to learn and get a qualification whilst still being able to work and learn new skills that will add to my knowledge and business skillset.
The programme has been really organised from a work point of view. I have had a lot of support from my colleagues with both work and being allowed time to do college work.
I have received a lot of support from my employer throughout the apprenticeship both with work and when I required support with gathering information for college work, completing tasks that met criteria for the exam board.
My training providers have tried really hard to be supportive when working towards my qualifications, even throughout working remotely during the pandemic.
I feel that there are certain business skills and facts that I have learned that will aid me in my development at the business.
There are lots of group activities and clubs such as women empowerment, environmental team and a work football team.
