an overview of my role, my role consists of health and safety of the telegraph poles within the network. Durning my day to day job i have to do various tests eg a full dig test, resistagraph test, a full climb test. generally maintaining and making sure the pole is safe to be in use.
since starting this job i have gained a huge amount of knowledge and understanding about the whole network. i have gained a massive amount of confidence in my self as a person and have the team behind me to encourage me a push me to be my full potential and give me the opportunity to have self believe.
the programme its self was absolutely incredible there has been a few hiccups but i genially believe that if it wasn't for covid 19 there wouldn't of been the small issue that did occurred, these wasn't major issues just a small lack of communication. but i believe that is no ones fault and everyone trying to adapt to the new way of life.
over all the organised structured of the programme was again incredible, from the day i started untill now i genuinely feel extremely lucky to be given a carer within this company and sector. apart from a few very small hiccups which there is no fault of any one the whole process has been stressfull but enjoyable.
the support i receive has been absolutely out of this world, i honestly can not praise the company, my manager and my mentor enough. first of for helping my through a very difficult time and being really understanding but overall if i ever have any issue i know i can always talk to my manager or mentor for advise or help with work related or personal issues.
The support i have received from my tutor has been fantastic, his general attitude towards me and calming manner has made the study days a joy to attend and the overall guidance and support from him has been A+. honestly cannot fault in anyway has been so helpful and encouraging.
overall i believe the qualification through the training provider has helped me massively to perform better in my role as i have so much more of an understanding and confidence to maintain a safe working environment not only for me but for everyone around me. it has given me the extra knowledge and pushed me to become a better me.
i believe there is a huge amount of extra curricular activities to get involved with within work, but i also believe that it all had to stop due to the covid 19 situation, but fingers crossed with things opening up and peoples bubbles getting bigger then the activities in work will get back to normal.
Yes
I would 100% recommend to a friend or family, mater of fact I tell everyone to try and apply for a job or use there services, simply because I believe it is an incredible company, an amazing carer opportunity, good salary and more importantly I have an incredible work/family life. I'm proud that I work for Openreach and also how far I have come over the last year as a person and what I have achieved personally.
My best tips and advise is just be your self 100%, and this is will be on of the best career choices you will ever make in your life. the company has so much to offer and so much opportunity to grow with in the company it really is unreal. potentially the possibilities are endless, its a matter of how far do you want to push your self. if for what ever reason you do not get a the position keep trying do n0t give up at the first hurdle. if you get to the interview stage just do a bit of research it will give you a massive edge.
