In my Talent Operations role I work on various projects aimed at improving the culture and engagement of the business as well as other marketing projects. On a day-to-day basis I am involved in a lot of meetings based around this and work on tasks set by smaller projects I'm involved with.
One of the key skills I have developed on is my leadership skills by taking initiative to lead a task - which is something I am not used to - and thanks to the support of my team, it has really improved my confidence as well. I'm starting to get an overall better understanding of the company too.
I am enjoying everything at the moment, not too much to complain about at the moment. My manager is a great support and he ensures that whatever tasks I do is aligned with my apprenticeship. My mentor is has also been very helpful in walking me through my work plan, assignments and being very accessible for any help I need
It is very organised. I have catchups twice a week with my manager to go through what I've done throughout the week, and to see how I am doing with my project work for my apprenticeship. My training provider have also been very organised with my progress, booking my webinars and so forth
I receive a very good amount of support from my employer. The Talent group as a whole are very supportive, from day one they reiterated to me to not be afraid to ask for help when it is needed whether it be for my apprenticeship or my day-to-day duties and they are very flexible to adapt to my needs which is great.
Like I stated before I receive a very good amount of support from both employer and my training provider. They have made it very clear to show me how I can get access to support or for any problems that I may have and the attitude is very positive and encouraging.
My qualification helps me because right now I am completing all the theoretical pieces of work that gives me better knowledge of, for example, branding marketing strategies and how this is put into practice in one of the projects I am working on at the moment. And as the months go by by assignments will be more evidence/practical based and this will aid me a lot in my future work
There are many professional social events and classes that take place weekly ad is an open invitation for anyone to join in their free time. These include cookery classes, speed networking events, sessions learning more about financial leaders in the industry, investment insight sessions, mentoring and many more. One of the teams I work with also promote training courses for people to do as ongoing development.
Yes
It is a great company to work with, they really push their values of team work, respect, integrity and trust throughout the organisation. The employees are also seen as a priority just like their clients which I believe is very important - when there is a healthy work environment it improves staff motivation to do well and achieve company goals and Fidelity makes you feel valued when you do so.
The best advice I can give to anyone applying is to just go for it and Think positive! At Fidelity they are always willing to recruit fresh faces with a fresh outlook and generally want to expand and improve their culture and diversity - which is outstanding anyway. As long as you're willing to show your eagerness to learn, grow and reflect their values and goals you're in.
