Sales Revenue Planning are responsible for ensuring that all accounts have realistic forecast in for each pack type within the business for the year. Day-to-Day activities consist of tracking forecast with supply planning teams, exploring new opportunities across accounts for growth and supporting in the launch of our new products.
I have developed the skill of communication to ensure we maintain clear communication links with all functions within the business to maximise forecast efficiency as well as developing the ability to analyse trends in data to identify where forecast may not be robust or where new opportunities may be present. The internal training courses have been really useful as well as they have provided me with new skills such as revenue management and technical skills such as advanced Excel use.
I really enjoy the programme. Whilst it is hard work to balance a full time job and degree, it is extremely rewarding and the business experience you gain that you can then apply to your degree is invaluable. The business look for ways to support you in exceeding within the programme. The company culture is great, everyone is happy to support you and always wants to provide you with learning opportunities.
The programme is well structured. We received a very thorough induction process, that covered many aspects of the business and business fundamentals in great detail. The training as part of the role was very detailed and ensured we had all the support we needed to succeed within each role we went into. The programme has allowed us to rotate between different roles: Category Development, Field Sales and Sales Revenue Planning which allowed us to experience different aspects of the businesses, both internal and external as well as through different snacking categories. The team hierarchy has always ensured a good connection and support network from managers and other team members.
I receive a lot of support from my employer when it comes to the day-to-day job role. We have regular 121s to discuss the technical side of the job as well as personal development to ensure I am on track to meet my internal objectives and leadership shifts. When there are problems, managers are always happy to support and encourage you to take the lead.
I receive quite a lot of support from my employer. We are entitled to study leave when it comes to deadlines as part of the university degree and our managers always schedule regular catch ups to check in on our progress. Ultimately it is a step up from school and it is a professional, adult environment so a lot of it is independent and we are encouraged to reach out when we do require extra support.
My qualification helps me to perform better in my role because it provides me with greater understanding of the generic business environment that I can then apply to my employer specifically. The coursework element of the qualification encourages you to link your learnings to your business in particular so it helps provide me with the knowledge I need to apply to my role.
There are many extra-curricular activities to get involved in. In the office, we have a gym where they often hold classes / challenges for employees to get involved in. We also have lots of team socials that are arranged within our teams, such as nights out or dinners. There are lots of sports teams created such as running teams, cycling teams and a football team. There are a lot of internal networks such as early careers, GENDA, LGBT. Essentially you could create your own network / social providing you have the support and participation for it.
Yes
Mondelez provides endless opportunities for their degree apprentices and other early careers employees. This programme in particular is an amazing one to be a part of coming straight out of school, to gain real working experience and to complete a degree alongside it (debt free!). Mondelez is such a big business that owns well-known, very successful brands, it is a no brainer to want to work for such a supportive business that looks for young talent.
My best tip is to be yourself. The application process is competitive, but of course it will be for such a successful, exciting business. Speaking from experience, it isn't about the school you went to, or even to a certain extent the grades you get, it is more about who you are as an individual, so be you and be confident that you have what it takes to be a part of this programme! Another bit of advice would be to try and get some form of experience / opportunity that makes you stand out against others in the interview process. Gain some experience that shows how you have demonstrated some of the skills that are key for a business environment. Finally, RESEARCH! Don't go into the assessment day not having a clue about the business or their brands, show that you have done some research about the business and that you have a genuine interest with them.
