Supporting a portfolio of midcorp clients, working alongside relationship directors to drive the best results for customers and the bank. Client calls, team meeting calls, dealing with client queries and requests
Relationship building with clients and colleagues, credit skills, processes.
I enjoy the programme despite challenges caused by the pandemic. Work can sometimes get busy however there is always support there if needed. Work/life balance is good
Very well structured. University weeks and webinars are organised well in advance and yearly rotations have always happened on time. All kept up to date with any changes to course/dates/deadlines.
I receive sufficient support from my employer. I have a very much involved line manager and during my final year I have been assigned a talent coach who has helped with the rolling off process. I also have a university tutor whom I have monthly calls with
The employer does not get involved with the qualification side of things. Colleagues are always happy to help if they can however there isn’t much of a link between the university and Barclays.
At first I have struggled to understand the relevance however as I progress in my role I can see the relevance between what I have learnt at uni and the role
There have been social events such as Christmas parties, volunteer opportunities however it has been difficult during lockdown as we are restricted. However there has still been online calls etc.
Yes
I feel proud to work Barclays. Everyone I have come across has been so kind and supported of my journey. Everyone adheres to the values set by Barclays and there is a nice culture throughout the company.
Be yourself! Barclays is very understanding towards personal circumstances and will always to work with you with any needs you have if you are well suited to the job. Prepare to learn a lot within the first few months and don’t be afraid to reach out.
